I Can Burger

Ok... this is one of those smoking hot ideas you see flying around the FB posts that you just have to try. The idea made my list as soon as I saw it... and I was excited to finally make it happen! I have already seen multiple variations of this cook that looks great to try. Here is how I made it... and it tasted amazing!

Prep Time: 20 min

Cook Time: 465 deg for 35 min +/- (depending on how thick )

Grill Type: Green Mountain Grill

Ideas to cook by:

~3/4 lb hamburger

3 slices of bacon

1 egg

1/4 c fresh sliced onion

1/8 c sharp cheese

1.5 tbsp Feta cheese

1 tbsp favorite bbq sauce

Seasoning to taste

Start your prep:

This is for one can burger.  Have more... multiply it!

I like to do my prep cooking when possible on the drip tray of the  Bull Rack System .  This makes it so easy to move and transfer food... I would not want to be without it.  I simply made a big meatball out of the hamburger.  Took a can and wrapped the bottom of it with plastic wrap (easy to clean and remove that way).  Now put the can in the middle of the meatball and push down firmly.  This craters out the meat and makes for a perfect area to fill it up with the goods.

Wrap the outside edges of the meat with two strips of bacon.  My patty was large, so it took two to go all the way around.  I used a couple toothpick spears to hold the bacon in place and keep it neat.  Next, crack the egg in the crater making sure not to get any shell inside.

Now it is time to load it up with the goodies!  Fill it up with sharp cheese, bbq sauce, onion and feta cheese and season to taste.  The seasonings I used included kosher salt, pepper, sage, GMG Chipolte seasoning and a bit of seasoning salts.  Lastly, take the last strip of bacon and shred it up and toss it on top.

You have a mountain of joy waiting to happen there my friend!

Transferred it over to my perforated Bull Rack Tray

The  Bull Rack System...it works!  Makes it easy.

The drip tray below helps keep the grill much cleaner.  I did some store bought flakey biscuits... girls ate them up as soon as they were done to perfection.  When the can burgers are done, I take and use the drip tray to help transfer everything back into the house.  Easy!

This was super tasty and will be on the menu again soon!

I hope you enjoyed this and will try your own version soon.

Cook ON!
